Test your brain power on a range of different topics
No longer the preserve of daytime television shows, nowadays it's possible for anyone to prove how much of a smart Alec they are by playing quizzes on a PC or through the Net. Although not exactly polished in terms of presentation, the game interface looked colourful enough to warrant us taking a closer look.
The trouble is, we probably shouldn't have bothered. After eventually figuring out how to play the game, we were treated to a succession of bland, boring questions that were pretty easy even for this uneducated reviewer. You're already given the number of letters in the word of the answer and seem to be allowed to keep guessing letters if you make a mistake. Hence, winning a game by answering the question "what's the closest planet to the Sun" wasn't greatly satisfying, especially because it only takes three rounds of questions to win the game.
What's more, the game only seems to work in two-player mode and there's no option to play against the computer or against other people online. But perhaps the most frustrating thing of all is that if you get one question wrong then it's game over – the program just shuts down completely immediately.
